Would you believe that before I had the chance to experience the Chesapeake Bay Mind & Body candles and diffuser, I only purchased candles that smelled like food, coffee, or seasonal scents like burning leaves? Don't get me wrong, I still love filling my home with scents like Chesapeake Bay Vanilla Biscotti and of course Snow by the Shore, but now that I have had the chance to enjoy these incredibly pleasing scents, I'm obsessed.

I admit in the past I would have walked right by these scents. Clearly I didn't know any better. And I definitely didn't know that I needed these calming, relaxing, delicate, harmonious candles in my life. I'm so obsessed with them that I'll even burn them during the day when I'm home. I have never, ever burned candles during the day before, it was always just a night thing for me. For some (silly) reason, in my mind, candles only got burned at night. I'm a weirdo, I know. 

I think part of the reason I would have never picked up candles like these before is because I'm not familiar with the scents. It's easy to buy a coffee scented candle, or an apple pie scented candle because you know what that smells like! The scents from the Mind & Body collection, I was completely unfamiliar with.

Raise your hand if you feel sleep deprived. Yikes, that's a lot of you. 

According to a 2016 CDC study 1 in 3 adults do not get enough sleep on a regular basis. I used to be one of those 1 in 3. I had a hard time falling asleep at night, I could never stay asleep, and I never woke up feeling well rested. I considered myself a "light sleeper" and I would almost never dream.

That is no longer me. Now I fall asleep easily, dream every single night, stay asleep all night long, and wake easily in the morning feeling well rested. I'm not telling you this to try and make you jealous, I'm telling you this because if what I share with you below helped me, it might help you too......

Winter in the Midwest can feel like forever. And it takes a toll on your skin. It's always the backs of my hands and from my knees down that get it the worst. I should probably wear gloves more often and stop going to the gym every day in my workout capris because exposed skin during the winter months is a big no-no. 

A few years ago my youngest sister-in-law introduced me to a store at the mall that specialized in natural body care products. I fell in love with these products, especially their in-shower exfoliating lotion bar, but holy heck that stuff gets expensive. This year, I decided to make my own.

Ok guys, Christmas is exactly one week away. Do you have all of your gifts purchased and wrapped? Are you struggling to find an affordable and thoughtful gift for that family member, friend, or co-worker? Before you run to the store and purchase that Christmas-themed gift basket filled with overpriced chocolate and Christmassy things that will be stored away within days all in a basket that the receiver will probably never use again, I have a solution for you. 

I am not a fan of Christmas-themed gift baskets at all. If the items cannot be worn, used, displayed, or enjoyed for the entire year, I do not gift it. The only exception to this is edibles. I think most people un-Christmas their homes and want to jump right back into routine and normal life shortly after the holidays - especially since the holidays start earlier and earlier every year.
