Welcome to What Rose Knows
Though I have been blogging for the past 5 years, a change was needed and in September of 2015 I left the deal blogging world to pursue my long time desire to blog about home decor, DIY, and anything home. Even though I have no formal design training it all comes very naturally to me. I feel fortunate to have an eye for design and be able to carry out my visions. Between my natural knack for home decor and my longtime experience with deal blogging, creating a stylish home on a simple budget is my passion.
I believe that everyone has the capability to make their home their own personal oasis. I hope to guide, inspire, and share my knowledge with those that may suffer from decorating doubt.
As cliche as this may sound, I am truly married to my best friend and my biggest fan. Having someone by your side that will always have your back, always stand up for you, and always be on your team are qualities in my marriage I hope our children learn from and experience in their adult lives. We both have a love of DIY, creating, designing, and imagining. Not only is he very handsome, thoughtful, and patient, he also gives the best foot rubs. :)
We have two children; a 17 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. From very young on, my goal was to teach my children to be independent. After all, our kids are only with us for a short time, so in that time we need to teach them to be appreciative, respectable, ambitious, and independent adults. While my children do appreciate my commitment to a clean house, I don't think they feel the same way about my cooking. -_-
Our family recently moved to the Rochester, MN area after living in southeast Wisconsin our entire lives. We have only been in Minnesota for a very short time and I'm already in love with this area and the state. There is a true sense of community in the Rochester area and it didn't take me very long to be full of Minnesota pride. :)
A few more things about me...
I love to read both traditional books and Kindle books.
I drink my morning coffee with heavy whipping cream because I follow a Keto and low carb high fat diet - and I've never felt better. :)

I buy dozens and dozens and dozens of farm fresh eggs from the Amish at the Rochester, MN Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings.
If this were the late 1860's, I would have a crush on Abraham Lincoln.
I love vendor shows, handmade markets, pop-up shops, antique shows, and barn sales.
Cleaning (more specifically vacuuming) relaxes me.
I suck at math.
I write better than I speak.
I hate putting gas in my car.
I like to watch the sappy movies on the Hallmark channel.
I sometimes have a bad temper.
I sometimes swear. (Ok, I swear a lot.)
I never had too many people stand up for me growing up, so I quickly learned to stand up for myself, defend myself, and speak up.
I refuse to eat cilantro and rosemary. They are both disgusting.
I am a home decor enthusiast & admirer.
I love to follow hashtags on Instagram.
I am devoted to keeping my home clean & organized.
I love to shop for anything "home".
